1.25” EXPOSED INSTALLATION KIT

PURINAL Hygienic urinal outlet system 1.25” EXPOSED INSTALLATION KIT
PURINAL has been designed to fit the majority of common urinal bowls with removable outlet connectors. The system is quick and easy to install, however you must follow these few important steps to create an efficient free flowing biological urinal system that is easily maintained and odour free. Before starting the installation please ensure that you have the correct install kit for your type of urinal and the appropriate plumbing tools and skills to complete the installation successfully whilst complying with local water bylaw requirements and maintaining good hygiene.
WASTE PLUMBING INSTALLATION

1) Isolate water supply to cistern Immediately isolate the water supply to the cistern after ensuring the cistern has flushed and is empty.

2) Disconnect and remove the existing bottle trap / U-bend from existing urinal outlet at the bottom of the urinal. Dispose of the old outlet from the urinal bowl and remove any old sealant, making sure all surfaces are dry and clean.

3) Install the Purinal outlet. When installing be careful not to over-tighten the outlet nut, in most cases you may need to apply a sealant / sealing compound to ensure a good seal. Ensure the downstream waste pipe work is serviceable before connecting the new Ureco outlet to the new telescopic trap. Once all pipes and traps have been reconnected, check all joints for leakage.

4) Restrict sparge pipe water flow. The Purinal requires a reduced volume of flushing water. Installing the water saving restriction washer within the cistern outlet fitting will ensure sufficient restriction. Once fitted you will notice a large reduction in flushing water velocity which is a unique feature and benefit of the Purinal system, saving water and money. To maximise water savings, we recommend flushing NO more than 2 Litres per urinal per flush. This can be achieved using one or more cistern restriction bags in the cistern.

5) Install Purinal head into new Purinal outlet at the bottom of the urinal pan. It is very important that the Purinal clicks into place securely to ensure a correct fit.
*Please note, The Purinal must be replaced every 3 months to remain effective.

6) Note: If no electronic urinal flush control is fitted please proceed to step (7) otherwise reinstate water supply to the cistern.

FLUSHING TIMER INSTALLATION

7) Electronic Flushing Controls. It is highly recommended that a flushing control is used to maximise the efficiency of the Purinal system. In most cases a basic ES50 timer can be used however in more complex heavily used sites an ES10 flushing control is preferable.

8) Installation of an ES50 flushing control. Remove the adjustable drip control from the end of the fill pipe and fit a 90 degree bend to direct the water into the cistern without splashing. Remove a section of the pipe and fit the solenoid valve whilst referring to the instructions found within the ES50 packaging to suit your system. Push the battery operated ES50 onto the solenoid valve ensuring the three pins are inserted correctly. Please follow the set up procedure in the ES50 instructions. (Please note: In variable use washrooms I.e. Sports Stadiums. please consider the use of a motion sensor flush system such as the ES10).

9) Testing It is highly recommended to check the flushing water flow through the urinal before leaving the site. It is essential that no flushing water “back up” occurs due to poor drainage condition (i.e. Build up of sludge or uric salts).

REMEMBER

1) Isolate water supply & empty cistern
2) Disconnect bottle traps
3) Install Purinal outlet
4) Restrict sparge pipe water flow
5) Install Purinal
7) Install an electronic flushing controls
