1) Isolate water supply to cistern Immediately isolate the water supply to the cistern after ensuring the cistern has flushed and is empty.
2) Disconnect and remove the existing bottle trap / U-bend from existing urinal outlet at the bottom of the urinal. Dispose of the old outlet from the urinal bowl and remove any old sealant, making sure all surfaces are dry and clean.
3) Install the Purinal outlet. When installing be careful not to over-tighten the outlet nut, in most cases you may need to apply a sealant / sealing compound to ensure a good seal. Ensure the downstream waste pipe work is serviceable before connecting the new Ureco outlet to the new telescopic trap. Once all pipes and traps have been reconnected, check all joints for leakage.
4) Restrict sparge pipe water flow. The Purinal requires a reduced volume of flushing water. Installing the water saving restriction washer within the cistern outlet fitting will ensure sufficient restriction. Once fitted you will notice a large reduction in flushing water velocity which is a unique feature and benefit of the Purinal system, saving water and money. To maximise water savings, we recommend flushing NO more than 2 Litres per urinal per flush. This can be achieved using one or more cistern restriction bags in the cistern.
5) Install Purinal head into new Purinal outlet at the bottom of the urinal pan. It is very important that the Purinal clicks into place securely to ensure a correct fit.
*Please note, The Purinal must be replaced every 3 months to remain effective.
6) Note: If no electronic urinal flush control is fitted please proceed to step (7) otherwise reinstate water supply to the cistern.
